About Mackie Images

Award-winning adventure photographer Ian Mackie moved to the Pacific Northwest 11 years ago, leaving behind the suburbs of Massachusetts in search of higher mountains, desolate trails and deeper snow. Captivated by the diversity and beauty of the Pacific Northwest, Ian always finds an excuse to pack up the skis, bike or sea kayak in search of a new adventure. Unable to find the right words to describe the beauty and magic of our natural surroundings, Ian chooses photography to convey a unique and inspiring look at man and the environment.

Ian is currently spending this winter in Seattle after last winters stint in Whitefish, Montana, located just outside the entrance to Glacier National Park.

Ian's landscape and adventure photographs have been recognized by scores of industry professionals and used by companies such as REI, Scarpa and Whistler Mountain Resort to name a few. He is known also as the unofficial team photographer for the United States Telemark Team.

His images have been displayed in and around Seattle, including The Globe Gallery in Pioneer Square and the famous Art Wolfe gallery as a winner in the Environmental Photography Invitational's "Man and the Environment" category.
